Some of the San Luis Valley’s most beautiful fall drives are the closest to home, like the drive through Alamosa Canyon on CR 250 just south of Monte Vista. The road heads into the Rio Grande National Forest, past the old mining town of Jasper, over Stunner Pass and Platoro Reservoir. The trip can access Hwy 17 and Chama, then down to Antonito.
