Adrian D. Getz, 69

ALAMOSA — Longtime Alamosa resident Adrian D. Getz, 69, passed away surrounded by his family at the San Luis Valley Health Regional Medical Center in Alamosa March 18, 2020.


Adrian was born in Odessa, Texas on Nov. 25, 1950 to Paul W. and M. Latrelle (Snider) Getz. He married his wife of 48 years, Rhoda Grazier in Monte Vista, Colorado March 18, 1972.


Adrian worked for most of his life as a mechanic and was very dedicated to his job. One of his favorite past-times was working on cars with his son Kenny. More than anything, Adrian loved spending time with his family and enjoyed the many barbecues, camping trips in the mountains and lake trips for water skiing. He always found time to spend time with his family. Adrian also enjoyed woodworking and completed several different items for his family. He was a member of the B.P.O.E. 2456 in Monte Vista, Colorado and held many officer positions throughout the years. In the most recent years, he traveled all about the western United States in his RV with his wife Rhoda.


Adrian is survived by his loving wife Rhoda Getz of Alamosa; his children Kristi (Charles) Agenbroad of Los Lunas, NM and Kenneth (Lindsay) Getz of Mosca, CO; his grandchildren: Coby and Cutter Robbins, Braxton and Mason Getz, and Jayden and Jacob Agenbroad; his brother Russell Getz of Milwaukee, WI; his sister Paula (Jon) Crunk of Ruidoso, NM; two brothers-in-law, one sister-in-law and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.


He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother David Getz.


Cremation was chosen and a Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at a later date due to current restrictions on gatherings and interstate travel for family. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the San Luis Valley Cancer Relief Fund (SLVCRF), at P.O. Box 1297, Alamosa, Colorado 81101.
