ANTONITO — Lowe's Market in Antonito was robbed Monday night, the Conejos County Sheriff's Office reported. This was the third robbery of this type this month in the San Luis Valley.

At approximately 7:47 p.m., the Conejos County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to 512 Main Street in Antonito regarding a robbery that had just occurred.

Deputies learned that a man walked into the store wearing a green camouflage jacket and a white facemask. The man showed the store clerk a note indicating he had a gun and demanded money. The man took US currency and fled on foot eastbound.

The Conejos County Sheriff’s Office is investigating this incident and requesting community assistance in identifying the suspect. The sheriff's office released an image of the suspect from the market's security camera.

Similar "armed" robberies occurred on Jan. 10 at City Market in Alamosa and Jan. 15 at a Dollar General in Alamosa. No arrests have been made in these two incidents. In both, a man wearing similar clothing and face covering demanded money from the cash register and fled on foot afterward.
