Bikers donate school supplies to youth

On Saturday, Sept. 1, San Luis Valley bikers donated school supplies to youth following the Antonito Annual Parade. The parade passed homes where people watched from front porches and lawn chairs. Immediately following the parade, bikers set up their booth. “As the youth prepare for the school year, we thought we would help get them into the spirit by supplying them with back packs and school supplies,” said Julie Gomez-Nuanes. Students from Head Start to 12th grade received supplies. This is the third year the bikers have donated supplies to the local youth. Thanks goes to all the bikers that came out to ride and help, members of the Conejos Rotary Club, Deeann Dodds and crew, Angela Velasquez, LeeAnn Duran, Justin Spencer,  Robert Ward,  Cletus Perea, Andrew Perea,  Charlie Fox, Phillip Navarro, Areana and Janessa Ruybal, along with Teotenantzin Ruybal and her crew. Special thanks also go to the Antonito Labor Day committee.
