Centauri high, middle school host top speaker on leadership

Members of FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) join speaker Jesse Funk on Dec. 11 at Centauri.

LA JARA — On Tuesday, Dec. 11 Jesse Funk, a “Top Youth Speaker” presented to both Centauri High School and Centauri Middle School Students.
Using both song and words Jesse Funk promoted tools that teens can use to promote positive thinking and leadership.
1.  Leaders choose to believe in themselves.
2.  Leaders choose to outsmart the bullies.
3.  Leaders choose to set healthy boundaries.
4.  Leaders choose to forgive and move forward.
This presentation was sponsored by the Centauri FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America). Courtney Hamilton, a Centauri sophomore student, who is working on a National Programs Project through FCCLA contacted “Top Youth Speakers” and arranged for Jesse Funk to speak.
Hamilton collaborated with Centauri High School Principal Brian Loch, Centauri Middle School Principal Tyler Huffaker, Chelsea Bechaver FCCLA Adviser, Melissa Caldon and Amber Martinez, Health and Wellness Program, and Federal Programs Director Susan Hamilton in order to secure the funding for the presentation.
