Centauri teacher of the year

Margaret Salazar-Muniz

LA JARA — Margaret Salazar-Muniz is Centauri High School’s Teacher of the Year. She has been an educator for 25 years and has spent 19 years teaching math at Centauri High School. She spends hours planning for student success and is available to tutor her students before school, during lunch and after school. She even stays up late every night to grade because she feels like if she asks a student to complete the work, then she needs to make sure she gives them feedback so that they can learn from their mistakes. When you think of a teacher who excels in her job, you think of Margaret Salazar-Muniz. Her ability to engage her students in the learning process is amazing. Every time she is observed, every student is engaged in learning and students are motivated by her teaching style, making sure all students are accountable for their own learning, but more importantly, she demonstrates her completed dedication to helping them achieve that learning.
