The Colorado Department of Education gives this reward to recognize public schools that enroll a student population of which at least 75 percent are at-risk pupils and demonstrate the highest rates of longitudinal growth on state assessments. AMS students showed exceeding growth on their CMAS tests this last spring. Only 15 schools across the state were awarded this recognition and AMS was the only school in the San Luis Valley to receive the award.
