LA JARA — It was standing-room-only at the Christmas concert at Centauri High School on Dec. 4. People came to support their youth and fellow community members in celebrating the Christmas season.

The program began with Valley Vocal Performers. This new group started this fall. It is open to all children in San Luis Valley ages 10- 18. Reach out to Debbie Vance or Kayla Hostetter on Facebook to join. The new season begins in January.  There is a chance to hear the Valley Vocal Performers again on Dec. 13 at 6:30 p.m. in La Jara at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints church on 716 Broadway St.

Fourth- and fifth-graders, representing La Jara and Manassa elementary schools, then sang some Christmas favorites like “O Christmas Tree.”

The Baroz family sang a beautiful acapella harmony. The Community in Christ adult community choir performed.

The concert ended with the audience singing “Joy to the World” and “Feliz Navidad.”
