On Jan. 8, Danny Sanchez, above, was sworn in as the new Costilla County Sheriff by Costilla County Judge Kim Wood. Sanchez defeated Carlos C. DeLeon, Colleen C. Romero and Steven Vigil last year. He replaces the late Sheriff Amos Medina. Below, R. Scott Herrera was sworn in as undersheriff and signs his official declaration.
