The former Centauri High School will be open to the community on April 12 and 13 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for the public to take a last look, reminisce, and take photos. On March 28, students, faculty and staff entered the new Centauri High School and bid farewell to the old school. The new state-of-the-art school is the beneficiary of a Colorado Department of Education Grant called Building Excellent Schools Today (BEST) that provided the North Conejos School District with $24.2 million. NCSD matched the remaining $6.4 million to build the school. A formal celebration of the new school is scheduled for May 27 and 28.
