CONEJOS COUNTY — A historic walking group completed a 10-mile walk last weekend in Costilla County and is gearing up for a similar walk in Conejos County this coming Saturday.
A 10-mile Mission Church Walking experience in Conejos County is planned Saturday, Aug. 10.
It was a beautiful day Aug. 3 with a group walking 10 miles from San Luis to the Culebra Basin villages of Chama, Los Fuertes and San Francisco.
Participants learned about local culture, traditions, practices, water/land rights and more.
Partners included Sangre de Cristo National Heritage Area, San Luis Valley Great Outdoors, Move Mountains Project: San Luis, Conejos Clean Water, Walk2Connect and Intrinsic Paths.
