LA JARA — Once a year, La Jara shows off its best at Glory Days.
This year’s activities are set to begin at 7 a.m. Saturday, June 16 with breakfast at Jack’s Market, sponsored by the market and the La Jara Fire Department.
At 7:30 a.m., a 5K run/walk hosted by championship runner, La Jara Mayor Larry Zaragoza, will start at the elementary school.
As the breakfast draws to a close at 9 a.m., booths, crafts and live entertainment will begin at the town hall park. Set up will begin at 8 a.m.
The annual — and always exciting — parade will begin lining up at 9:15 a.m. behind Family Dollar and crowds will assemble to watch as it kicks off at 10 a.m.
Live entertainment set to play at the town park pavilion, will include Blue Healers from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Blue Sky from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. and legendary Indian Nickel from 4 to 7:30 p.m.
Fireworks are planned around “Dark Thirty” (9 p.m.), fire restrictions permitting.
This is an alcohol-drug free event and those attending are asked to bring their own chairs.
