La Jara gearing up for Glory Days

The big celebration every year in this small town is Glory Days, June 24. The day begins around 7 a.m. with a pancake breakfast at Jack’s Market, followed by a 5K race/walk starting at the elementary school and organized by La Jara Mayor Larry Zaragoza, himself a champion runner from his collegiate days at Adams State. The 10 a.m. parade is a big event, with businesses and community organizations taking part and ushering in all-day events at the town park, with live music, vendors, food and fun. At dusk, fireworks will be provided by Espinoza Consulting Services. For more information, please call 274-5363.
