LA JARA — The La Jara Town Board chose Curt Wilson to fill an open trustee position during their regular meeting on Oct. 13.

To fill the open trustee position, La Jara took applications from the community. They state their interest and experience at the town board meeting and are chosen by the mayor, town board and town manager. They serve a four-year term.

Wilson has many years of experience with construction and grant writing.

Fred Velasquez Jr. was added to the Board of Adjustment, which considers variances in the zoning laws and can help people in special circumstances. He is a veteran of the US Navy and a descendant of the original settlers.

Thomas Dufresne is the new maintenance supervisor for La Jara.

The main topic of discussion was the expansion of La Jara and what is involved in making that happen.
