Maintenance operations set for Highway 17

CONEJOS COUNTY — The Colorado Department of Transportation will be working in the San Luis Valley this week, with some work continuing on through the month of October.

Colo. Highway 17
Crews will be repairing slopes above and below the roadway at two locations with work taking place now through the end of October.
The work site locations are in mountainous areas with curves in the road. Slow down.
Two locations:
MP 0-3 — This is at the New Mexico state line and south of Cumbres Pass, about 35 miles south of Antonito.
MP 18-20 — This is just east of La Manga Pass, about 20 miles west of Antonito.
Motorists will encounter brief delays and should be prepared for stops and one-lane alternating traffic guided by flaggers and/or a pilot vehicle.
The speed limits will be reduced to 40 Mph. in the work zones.
CDOT urges the traveling public to slow down and be aware of signage, workers and equipment on the roadway.
