Mark Steven Bisel, 65

ALAMOSA—Alamosa resident Mark Steven Bisel, 65, passed away on Feb. 15, 2018.

He was born on March 20, 1952 in Oceanside, Calif. to Lee and Kathryn Bisel.

He was a huge fan of Kansas Jayhawks basketball and the Kansas City Chiefs and was an avid crossword puzzler and a lifelong lover of music. Mark was talented at singing, songwriting and he played the guitar, drums and keyboard beautifully by ear. Mark had a terrific sense of humor, quick wit and a gentle disposition. He enjoyed conversing and connecting with friends and strangers alike, which is why he loved getting up for work each day as a potato salesman. He was a proud lefty, a trait he was happy to share with his son.

Mark was a loving father and he was very beloved by his two children, Brooke Bisel and Robin (Naomi) Bisel, two sisters Margaret (Cliff) Johnson and Laura (Dennis) Ricketts and his nieces and nephews, his stepmother Ruth Bisel as well as his parents, who preceded him in death.

We will miss him dearly, especially his cheerful attitude and delight he expressed in talking with his loved ones. We are forever grateful that his lifestyle and our time with him over these last years were especially peaceful, stable and content.

Cremation was selected and the family will receive friends at a memorial gathering from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Alamosa on Thursday, Feb. 22.
