ANTONITO —Cammie Newmyer is South Conejos’ high school mathematics teacher and STEM coordinator.

She spent a year working at the National Science Foundation in Washington DC and learned about all types of free quality STEM resources available to students, parents and teachers, which she will introduce to students, parents and teachers.

In addition, she is author of a series of textbooks, “Math that Makes Sense,” available to anyone who wishes to learn more about math.

The Space Foundation’s Discovery Center is located in Colorado Springs and provides the public with virtual tours and virtual story time.

In addition, as part of the many free online resources, she would like to highlight two.
For teachers, the team at the discovery Center has prepared free lesson plans to use with their Snoopy in Space Program.

For parents and students, she notes, the knowledgeable docents at the museum have created interesting and educational videos like Animals in Space.
