Remains still not identified

SAN LUIS — Identification has not been released on human remains found by some young hunters Saturday, Sept. 9, and Costilla County Undersheriff Ricky Rodriguez is waiting to receive the body.
Reports from Huerfano County say the remains were there from three to six months.
Although the grisly discovery was made near the Costilla County line, it was determined to be a Costilla County case, so Costilla Sheriff’s Sgt. Paul Quintana assisted the Huerfano County Sheriff’s Office in recovering the remains, which were immediately sent to the El Paso County Coroner.
Sgt. Quintana is being assisted by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the El Paso County Coroner, who says identification may take a few months, according to Undersheriff Ricky Rodriguez.
Investigation is continuing.
