San Luis business owners organizing events

SAN LUIS — Boughtbytheblood Designs and Tres Loco Gear is presenting several events in the coming months.

Oct. 14 is a 3-on-3 double-knockout basketball tournament, co-sponsored by a new retail business in town, Enlightened SLVCo. Daniel Valdez, one of the owners, is hosting that event. The basketball tournament is at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 14 at the San Luis town pavilion. 

Boughtbytheblood Designs is having a Halloween festival and trunk or treat Oct. 29. The fun begins at 1 p.m. with Mouth of the South DJ Bombito. There will be vendors selling custom T-shirts, food and drink. People can bring their decorated cars and self for the Halloween costume contest.

The People's Market across from the pavilion in San Luis is in on the Oct. 29 fun. They will have a Haunted Hayride and Haunted House. There will be games, and an ice cream vendor. A haunted Halloween movie will be shown at 6 p.m. at the town pavilion in San Luis.

Moses Hernandez, of Boughtbytheblood Designs, wants to continue providing opportunities for the community to come together.

"We have to work together" to create a vibrant community, he said. Hernandez shows movies every Thursday, Friday, Saturday nights at 6 p.m. at the San Luis pavilion for free to bring people together.

He is planning events for Thanksgiving and Christmas, hoping to give away lots of presents for children 0-18 years old. Call 719-232-2140, for more information on any of these events.
