Sheriff offering concealed handgun course to Conejos County citizens.

CONEJOS — A concealed handgun firearm training course will be offered Feb. 23 by the Conejos County Sheriff Garth Crowther.
This will be a four-hour course and will satisfy requirements for a concealed firearm carry permit upon successful completion.
There is no charge for the course for Conejos County citizens. There will be a $50 charge for everyone else wanting to take this class.
The course will run from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23, at the Conejos County Sheriff's Office, 14044 County Road G.5.
You will be required to bring your own handgun and a box of ammunition. A suitable hip holster will also be required for training as well as hearing protection and eye protection.
A ball cap for sun protection and proper clothing are recommended. Please keep your firearm in your vehicle; you will not need it until we go to the range for the shooting portion.
