SLV COVID-19 and Older Adults

SAN LUIS VALLEY - South-Central Colorado Seniors, Inc., the local Area Agency on Aging, announced that as of March 16, three senior centers have closed in Alamosa, Antonito and Northerners in La Jara.


Because we serve meals in those centers, we will not be serving congregate meals at those sites.
Starting Wednesday, March 18, all meal sites valleywide will be closed for congregate consumers. Because we, South-Central Colorado Seniors, Inc., the Area Agency on Aging provides home-delivered meals and congregate meals at these sites, we are modifying operations with options that still allow us to serve you. Services for our homebound clients will continue as usual with precaution and sanitary guidelines continuing with our drivers. In regard to our congregate consumers, eating at the meal site will not be an option for at least two weeks. However, you will have to opportunity to receive a “box lunch.”


 These box lunches can be picked up at the meal sites around the valley at noon. Reservations are still required to receive the box lunches. Please sign in on the reservation book at the site or call our Administration Office and we will make sure to get your reservation is given to the meal server at that particular meal site.


We ask that those with questions regarding our nutrition program or aware of anyone in need of our services, please contact our Administrative Office, 719-589-4511, 1116 3rd Street, Alamosa. Because we serve the older adult population, you must be 60 and over to receive these services.
Precautionary steps are taking place in all services to help keep our clients as well as our employees safe and healthy.
