SLV Federal Bank supports community with Spirit of Giving

ALAMOSA — For 23 years, San Luis Valley Federal Bank has been giving back to the San Luis Valley community with the Spirit of Giving event, from Nov. 14-Dec. 16 this year. Each year, the bank takes $30,000 to help non-profits throughout San Luis Valley. This year 205 non-profits were eligible to receive funds.

Members of San Luis Valley Federal Bank cast one vote per account from a list of non-profits. Each vote means money. More votes mean more money. People were able to vote in the bank or online.

Chief Operating Officer Delzia Worley explains, "People can control where their money goes."

They can vote for companies and causes they are passionate about, she said. The monies reach throughout the Valley, to organizations like Conejos Clean Water, Rio Grande Land Trust, first responders in Costilla and Conejos counties, churches, or veteran's services. The last day to vote was Dec. 16.

Organizations can expect a belated Christmas present before the end of the year, thanks to the generosity of San Luis Valley Federal Bank.
