Splashland Triathlon results shared

ALAMOSA— The Overall Triathlete in the Splashland Hot Springs Swimming Pool Sprint Triathlon included: Jarrod Trainor, Albuquerque, N.M., male; Paula Maresh, Littleton, female; and relay triathletes: Team MunsonValentin, La Jara, first place and Team Three Amigos, Alamosa, second place. The weather at the start of the race, 9 a.m. was 41 degrees with an 11 mph breeze. The weather at the finish hovered around 54 degrees with 18-20 mph gusts. The Oct. 21 event had 40 participants and two relay teams.
Division winners results included:
Age Group 15 and under, male: Jack Hilwig, Alamosa;
Age Group 15 and under, female: Shiinei Tallman, La Jara;
Age Group 20-24 female: Kayla Anderson, Alamosa;
Age Group 25-29 male: Luke Yoder, Alamosa;
Age Group 25-29 female: Kendra Bajcar, Frederick, first place; Emily Chick, Monte Vista, second place;
Age Group 30-34 male: Blake Bajcar, Frederick, first place; Chad Elsner, Pueblo West, second place;
Age Group 30-34 female: Rebecca Norton, Manassa, first place; Meigan Munson, La Jara, second place;
Age Group 35-39 male: Heber Sheffield, Alamosa, first place;
Age Group 35-39 female: Gina Mitchell, Monte Vista, first place; Renee Beeton, Alamosa, second place; Cindy Axtell, Greeley, third place;
Age Group 40-44 male: Scott Graber, Alamosa, first place; Chris Jaramillo, Colorado Springs, second place; Jeff McPherson, Golden, third place;
Age Group 40-44 female: Sarah Simon, Colorado Springs, first place;
Age Group 45-49 female: Danielle de Boer, Colorado Springs, first place; Kellie Strawbridge, Denver, second place; Stephanie Hilwig, Alamosa, third place;
Age Group 50-54 female: Paula Maresh, Littleton, first place; Michelle Cox, Palmer Lake, second place;
Age Group 55-59 male: David Jackson, La Jara, first place;
Age Group 55-59 female: Kathryn Lewis, Blackhawk, first place.

According to Michael Bush, event organizer, the Adams State women’s softball team volunteered as course marshals and helped out at registration and finish line.
“I send a great big thank-you to those wonderful ladies who volunteered their time.”
