Two hurt in Monday crash

ALAMOSA COUNTY — The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a single vehicle crash early Monday on Highway 285 at Mile Post 29.


At approximately 5:18 a.m. Nov. 23, a 2006 Ford Escape driven by Shalonda Saenz, 30, of Alamosa, was traveling northbound on Colorado 285when it went off the left side of the roadway and rolled one half time landing on its top. Saenz was ejected and  transported by ambulance to the San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center for her injuries.  A passenger, Roman Garcia, 31, of Monte Vista, suffered serious bodily injury and was transported by ambulance to the hospital in Alamosa.  


The driver and passenger were not wearing seatbelts and drugs are a contributing factor in the crash, according to reports from the Colorado State Patrol.
