Valley Gun burglar captured

MONTE VISTA – Meza was captured in rural Alamosa County on Aug. 1, 2020, by the Alamosa Sheriff’s Office and Alamosa Police Department after allegedly being involved in another burglary. He is currently being held in the Alamosa County Jail.


In the early morning hours of July 22, 2020, the Monte Vista Police Department responded to an alarm at Valley Gun, located on the eastside of Monte Vista. Upon arrival officers found a vehicle had been driven through the east wall of the gun store to gain access inside. The vehicle fled prior to officers arriving on scene. After an intensive investigation, Martin Meza, 40, with a last known address in Monte Vista was identified as a suspect in the burglary. An arrest warrant was issued for Meza for burglary and numerous other charges. Meza was considered armed and dangerous.
