High winds took out power in Manassa and Sanford during Tueday's storm. At Centauri, although high winds continue to cause power at all schools to periodically go off, students are safe inside and buses ran as normal. Sanford schools let out at 3 p.m. Tuesday. Visibility in some areas was limited due to high winds, no high profi le vehicles, light or empty trailers were allowed from Alamosa to Walsenburg on Highway 160 Tuesday morning. There was also a dust storm warning for the San Luis Valley, with vis-ibility limited. Residents south  of County Road 12 South and east of Road 109 to the Conejos County line were evacuated.
