Alamosa volleyball wins league title

Lady Mean Moose go 8-0 in league play and 24-1 in league sets

ALAMOSA – The Alamosa High School volleyball team concluded Intermountain League play this past weekend with a trip over Wolf Creek Pass and against Bayfield and Montezuma-Cortez. The Lady Mean Moose won both matches and won the Intermountain League championship.

On Friday, the Lady Mean Moose defeated Bayfield. They won the first two sets 25-17 and 25-19 but lost the third set 25-17. Alamosa won the fourth set 25-23.

On Saturday, Alamosa defeated Montezuma-Cortez in three sets. The scores were 25-17, 25-12 and 25-18.

The Lady Mean Moose had only one set loss in league play. Their league play sets record was 24 wins and one loss.

Alamosa (15-2, 8-0) will travel to Durango today for a 6 p.m. match. It will then go to the Sterling Invitational on Saturday where it will play Wiggins, Lamar, Sterling and Colorado Springs Christian.

The final match of the regular season is on Halloween night against Fowler at home.
