Congressional candidate forum with Frisch and Hurd

ALAMOSA — The two candidates running to fill the congressional seat vacated by Rep. Lauren Boebert — Democratic nominee Adam Frisch and Republican nominee Jeff Hurd — will be on the same stage on Sept. 18, and voters can hear directly from the candidates themselves about their views on a number of topics.

Thanks to the Colorado’s League of Women Voters (LWV), a Congressional District 3 candidate forum is scheduled to take place online where anyone with access to the internet can watch the event.

This is not a debate; candidates will not be taking turns answering the same question but, instead, a forum where a moderator will ask each candidate a question and the candidate will have a certain amount of time to reply.

If the candidate wants to comment on something his opponent said, that is allowed but that time is deducted from the time he’s been allotted to answer.

The Colorado League of Women Voters, a non-partisan, grassroots organization working to protect and expand voting rights and ensure that everyone is represented in our democracy, has a history of holding candidate forums.

Ballots will be mailed out to Colorado voters on Oct. 11 and the general election is 25 days later.

The event takes place on Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. and can be watched at https://lwvcolorado-org.zoom.us/j/83313808020. Registration is not required.
